notes to my editor | disaster | sometimes you just can’t get the shot

last night i was assigned to shoot a profile shot of a band for a print editorial assignment. all i needed was one decent shot.

it was a clusterf**k to say the least.

these photos represent a communication between myself & my editor in Chicago. sometimes you have to show a little with the telling.

not captured:

• sax player falling off chair during performance.
• sax player disguised as a Sasquatch Photo Bombing Ninja falling off chair.

My editor’s conclusion, “Every photographer needs good war stories to tell. For every amazing shoot…there has to be a proportionately bad one.”
